JACKI P MOFFITT, MA, NCC, LPC

Jacki P Moffitt, MA, NCC, LPC holds a Master of Arts in Counseling and Educational Psychology from New Mexico State University.  She earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Central College in Iowa. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a  Nationally Certified Counselor. 

Ms. Moffitt is a well-experienced private practice psychotherapist since 1993. She has served as a clinical therapist in New Mexico and Arizona  in both private practice and community mental health settings. Her areas of clinical expertise include working extensively with children and families, survivors of sexual assault and abuse, ADHD and thought and mood disorders. She also holds experience in creating and directing day treatment programs for chronically mentally ill, facilitating their transition from inpatient status to community residences. Ms. Moffitt also acted as program coordinator for a Rape Crisis Advocacy Program, supervising and training therapists and volunteers and acting as a first responder. She is well experienced in providing mental status evaluations and risk assessments and has testified as an expert witness in child custody, sexual assault/ abuse and certification hearings. 

Ms. Moffitt’s interest in the organizational structures of memory systems has led to her working with trauma of all types and the utilization of EMDR.  She is a well-versed cognitive behaviorist whose approach integrates the principles of mindfulness along with  practical, solution-based strategies aimed at promoting personal strength and growth in thoughts and behaviors through utilization of mind/body awareness skills. To this end, she incorporates guided imagery, visualization, meditation, breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques to assist clients in building a strong foundation of useful resources. Ms. Moffitt also provides didactic instruction on coping, stress management, problem-solving, assertiveness and communication skills for children and adults. 

Ms. Moffitt lives with her husband Robert; the couple has successfully raised two wonderful sons to full adulthood. She enjoys reading, yoga, cycling and learning as well as music, dance and gardening.
